Jason and the Golden Fleece Source: Edith Hamilton's "Mythology"
- King Athamas wanted to get a divorce from his wife Nephele so that he could marry Princess Ino.
- Nephele thought that Ino would kill her son. (Ino did, in fact, want to kill him.)
- Ino bribed a messenger to tell the people in the town that the corn wouldn't grow unless the little boy was sacrificed.
- A ram with fleece made of gold took the little boy and his sister before he was killed.
- Pelias and Jason agreed to go on adventures to determine who would become king.
- Hera and Aphrodite made a plan for Cupid to make Jason fall in love with the Colchian King's daughter.
- Jason was only going to receive the fleece if he was more brave than King AEetes.
- Jason and Medea took the Golden Fleece to Pelias, where they learned that Pelias had made Jason's parents commit suicide.
- Medea killed Jason's wife and sons.
