There are many characters throughout literature that are "Christ-figures". An example of one of these characters is Noah from the Nicholas Sparks book and movie "The Notebook". Reasons that Noah is a Christ figure include:
1. He is agonizing over the loss of his true love for many years.
2. He sacrifices his own dreams and time to make his love, Ally, happy.
3. He has children, making him good with kids.
4. In his early thirties for most of the story.
5. Becomes a carpenter to build Ally the house of her dreams.
6. Noah does not own a car, but would rather walk.
7. He spends much of his time alone after Ally moves away.
8. Noah forgives Ally for leaving him, and even replacing him after she promised her love to him.
9. He wanted to redeem himself to Ally by helping her in her old age and remaining in love with her, even when she is sick.
