Daedalus and Icarus Source: Edith Hamilton's "Mythology"
- Daedalus was an architect who constructed a Labyrinth for Minotaur in Crete.
- Daedalus only told one other person how to get out of the Labyrinth.
- Minotaur took him prisoner along with his son Icarus.
- He created wings for them and told them to fly.
- Daedalus told Icarus to fly over the sea, but not too high or the glue holding the wings on him would melt and he would fall into the water.
- Icarus flew too high, so the wings came off and he drowned in the sea.
