Commentary: These stories show the weight that God's word has on his people. It also demonstrates the power that he holds. Because he is so powerful, he made the Egyptian's lives very hard until they respected Him. he showed unconditional love to the children of Israel because they worshiped Him. This is similar to Greek mythology because if the gods of Olympus were not respected or listened to, they would make life for their people very hard. When they were respected, life was a pleasure for everybody.
- The children of Israel filled the land.
- The people of Egypt made the Israel children work for them.
- The king of Egypt told the midwife to kill all male children when they are born, but let the females live.
- The midwives did not want to upset God so they let the male children live.
- A woman bore a son, Moses, but decided to hide him for three months.
- After the three months, she tried to camouflage him.
- The daughter of the Pharaoh found the baby.
- She was told by the mother to take and hide her baby, and she would pay her her salary to watch over the child.
- The Pharaoh wanted to kill Moses.
- Moses went into hiding, until he helped shepherds get water for their animals.
- God looked at his children after the death of the king of Egypt and respected them.
- The angel of the LORD came as a flame on a bush to Moses, but the bush did not burn.
- Moses was scared to look at God.
- God told Moses to tell the people of Israel "I AM THAT I AM".
- God told Moses to give all of their riches to the Egyptians so that they may leave.
- Aaron was told to go into the woods to meet Moses.
